    The Time Has Finally Arrived

That's the total off 14 pairs. Some pairs have just gone down for clutch number 2. I didn't do anything special, in fact the birds were left to there own device as I have been in hospital for the last 2 months.

I was just hoping for chicks this year and so far I have 57 young on the perch, a combination of normals, yellows, blues and silvers. All parent reared.

    The Time Has Finally Arrived

Welcome to the site Dave. Good luck with the birds. This year was my first year with gouldians, I started with normals and yellows. Unless you know for definate the genetics of your birds, expect some surprises along the line.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. First time round I kept stars, gouldians, bicheno and strawberry finches. I was going to get back into these but I have always had a soft spot for bengalese and javas so think I will give these species a try at first. The bengalese that I have been given are 5 chocolate pieds, 3 creamino, a pearl and 2 fawn. Am going to work wit these for the time being till after the new year. My current plan for a bird room isn't as elaborate as some on here, but it shall do.
